Do you think most people are more worried about satisfying themselves or their partner while having sex?

I totally enjoy getting my wife off but it doesn't seem to go the other way.

 Is it unusual to be so excited and wound up, then when I reach my climax, it is a low point? I put my heart and soul into what I do but she doesn't seem to reciprocate. She just lays there with her legs spread and waits for me to finish. I find it very frustrating.
