Why do women shave?

I have wondered this often why women shave their pussy. Is it for fun? Is it for vanity? Is it for curiosity.

After having a beard once when I shaved it off my face felt so bar, so naked, so sensitive that I thought...just maybe...

 It's probably a choice specific to each individual, although some women I know personally do shave just because most men prefer it that way. I shave the lips and trim and shave the top but leave a "landing strip" ... why... because it's cleaner, feels more comfortable, and I believe that a woman should have some hair as to not look like a 12 yr old.
