Ok, SO I know this isnt a normal post for me, but considering you all know how I am when it comes to baseball, this should fall into line.

Here is an article in the NYTimes today, and its Hank Steinbrenners reaction to his ace pitcher Chein Ming Wang getting hurt while running the bases the other day... For those of you who dont follow Baseball, The American League and the National League have slightly different rules they play by. Most notably, the DH. The DH is the Designated hitter. This is a player who doesnt play the field, but he bats in the place of the pitcher. The AL has adopted this rule, but the NL hasnt. So every year during Interleague play an AL Gen Mgr will cry about how he doesnt want his pitchers getting hurt... Well as a student of the game, the game was created for 9 players... not 9 and then a 10th so someone doesnt get hurt... I hate the DH rule, and think a player getting payed that much should be an athlete and play all aspects of the game... offense and defense... You dont see The Celtics leaving Paul Peirce on the bench and then bringing him in only to shoot free throws when Garnett gets fouled.... Its a ludicrious rule, and this article exemplifies the idiocy of the American League...

Who the fuck is Hank Steinbrenner, and why isnt he bringing up Babe Ruth... Only the greatest hitting PITCHER of all time... WHO PLAYED FOR THE YANKEES... You think Christie Mathewson, or Sachel Page would go for the DH... How about Cy Young...He was a career .210 hitter with 18hrs... Walter Johnson was a .234 hitter with 24hrs over 21yrs...Think they wanted someone else to hit for them... For fuck Sake Hank... Get your head out of your ass...

I appologise for the rant... This just really hit a nerve... hahahaha...
