what do you use ??? ended up having We ended up having cheeseburgers and grilled corn on the cob last night out on the grill. The hubby and I were having a discussion about grilling out, he told me that most of the men he works with use propane gas grills. I was kinda shocked, but can understand why, grilling goes so much faster that way. However we use good ole fashion charcoal. We also own a smoker and use that as well. We are going to try to smoke a ham and make some homemade bacon on with it this year too. Maybe I am missing out on something and can save time and money using propane instead ? Do you use propane or charcoal ? Can you tell me why you choose to use it ? much love {=}

Charcoal to me is ALWAYS the best way to go because of the flavor aspect of it getting into the meat and letting it cook and simmer on the grill over a period of time! I use both...but mostly propane...but love the taste of charcoal food...enjoy

I prefer charcoal, but for efficiency and economic reasons I use propane. I do what others have mentioned... adding wood chips in a small foil pan when I want a smoky flavor.
