Best Olympics Ever!!

I just got finished viewing the closing ceremony of the Olympics in Beijing and it was even better then the opening! I must say the Chinese did an outstanding job of it. They must have had thousands of performers all in costume, beautiful! They had a tall tower with 400 performers on it swaying here and there then huge ribbons cascading to the top of bird nest. They even had a British 2 decker bus. In four years they will be in London for the next Olympics but they will never match this performance here! The Chinese won 51 gold members but we won the most medals. Mike Phelps won 8 gold medals in swimming!

I went to the 1948 Olympics in London and being on the Ft.Lauderdale swim team I decided to practice in the Olympic Pool by pretending to be a contender, and I got in and got to practice for an hour! When I was leaving some British girls asked me for my autograph which I gladly signed.

Have you ever been to the Olympics? How did you like this one?

This is me in 1949 which I copied from my Ebb Tide Year Book!

Hi good looking! Thanks for the comment! I saw the interview with Michail Phelps which took place in London and I thought it was interesting.

My daughter took my 3 grandchildren to Athens for the 2004 Olympics also London and Venice. I see you are living in Greece, do you have family in England?
