The bots are getting smarter!

Seems that A F F is being invaded by fakes here lately. You know what I'm talking about ... there are a gazillion new profiles from people supposedly from small towns in the area. If you attempt to make contact with them, you'll usually get sent to some pay cam site or something like that. These aren't real people.

But are these fakes getting smarter?

Recently I saw a profile for someone who lives in a town not terribly far from me, but more importantly, lives near a place where I go several times a year on business. This person was in her 20s but said she liked older men, so I took a chance and sent an e-mail. The reply I got back seemed to be personally tailored to my inquiry and it included a chat ID for a place to be referred to as if you know what I mean.

I made contact there and we had what appeared to be a perfectly normal conversation. I mentioned I'd be in her area in a couple of days for a daytime meeting and asked if she wanted to hook up when my business was done. She seemed agreeable and started mentioning places. She was well-informed not only about places in the town where she said she lived, but in the neighboring town where I was going to be. She knew the names of streets, restaurants, motels and a lot of other details that would be known only by people familiar with the area.

All sounded good until she told me she wanted me to rate her in some sort of contest and sent me a link to sign up. And that's when I knew I'd fallen prey to yet another bot. I quickly blocked her on and laughed at my own gullibility. I'd been had by a smart bot!

Normally I'm good at spotting the fake profiles here, and wish there was some way to block them so they don't show up in searches, but this one was good enough to fool me. And the IM conversation was even more convincing.

So beware the smart bots, and don't sign up for what they're peddling. I know I didn't. I didn't get laid that trip, but there will be other times, I'm sure. I think I already have an encounter lined up for my next overnight trip there -- I'm hoping so, anyway!

They use goggle Earth while they are on line with ''you''
I caught one sometime back, she was telling me about a local
area. But~there was actually construction and de-construction
going on that she would have known about IF she had really
been there!

OH~NEVER go to their ''off Gay Hookup Zone'' site once they get that they'll
use ''your '' as a link for sending spam.Look at the full headers of the mail in your spam box there.

MY rule I go by~at least a couple mails here first!

This same "person" has since showed up with two new A FF profiles, one back in the same town from which she supposedly was posting the first time and the newest one from a "town" two hours away that is nothing more than a wide spot in the road with a rural post office.
