Saying goodbye to a friend Don't know if anyone noticed, or cared, but Yahoo chat rooms are no longer. The last day for them was yesterday, Dec. 14. The Yahoo chat rooms were interesting places. They weren't that great for picking up women. Once you got past all the bots, most of the participants were regulars who had their own little closed society. They weren't looking for sex, they were just killing time. (Why anyone would spend hours in there just chatting is beyond me). Having said that, it's not as if I didn't have any luck in the rooms. One night when I was in West Virginia, I struck up a conversation with someone in the room and it led to a pretty hot night. She went from telling me to come over but not promising anything, to giving me an evening to remember. I found someone nearby that I saw several times over the course of a couple of years, but seem to have lost contact with over the last several months. And during the last week that the rooms were active, I got lucky one evening and there is promise there of an ongoing thing. I'm not sure what will take the place of the Yahoo chat rooms. AOL is still active, but those rooms don't seem as popular as they once were. I guess I'll miss the Yahoo chat rooms, as they did yield a little luck, but it was no fun banning the bots and having to work around the time-wasting regulars trying to get laid. |

It's been my experience that A FF chat rooms are ore cliquish and less fruitful than the Yahoo chat rooms were. That's why I hardly ever go in them anymore.
