I'm sure those of you who aren't in the cattle business don't understand the issues here. But to those of us whose living depends on the cattle market, selling cattle, raising the best beef possible... This is frustrating.

This will keep us from ever stopping there again, even for a drink.

Canadian cattle producers are very passionate about this.

McDonald's claims that there is not enough beef in Canada to support their restaurants. Well, we know that is not so. Our opinion is they are looking to save money at our expense. The sad thing of it is that the people of Canada are the ones who made McDonald's successful in the first place, but we are not good enough to provide beef.

We personally are no longer eating at McDonald's, which I am sure does not make an impact, but if we pass this around maybe there will be an impact felt.

Please pass it on. Just to add a note:

All Canadians that sell cattle at a livestock auction barn have to sign a paper stating that we do NOT EVER feed our cattle any part of another animal. South Americans are not required to do this as of yet.

McDonald's has announced that they are going to start importing much of their beef from South America. The problem is that South Americans aren't under the same regulations as Canadian beef producers, and the regulations they have are loosely controlled.

They can spray numerous pesticides on their pastures that have been banned here at home because of residues found in the beef. They can also use various hormones and growth regulators that we can't. The Canadian public needs to be aware of this problem and that they may be putting themselves at risk from now on by eating at good old McDonald's.

Canadian ranchers raise the highest quality beef in the world and this is what Canadians deserve to eat. Not beef from countries where quality is loosely controlled. Therefore, I am proposing a boycott of McDonald's until they see the light.

I'm sorry but everything is not always about the bottom line, and when it comes to jeopardizing my family's health, that is where I draw the line.

Again here we are in a recession and we are bing shafted again!!! My friend works at the beef company that gets their beef from Alberta and then her company is the one that makes the Mixture for many fast food chains MacDonald's included...I think not only is our job market going to suffer but beware so will you health..I for one am not ever going to eat there and believe me i only on occasion eat the fish burgers or chicken burgers ..Not any more!!!

I wasn't aware of this and it is terrible. McDonald's Canada has been supported by us since its creation. Our government has helped it to expand into Russia when the US parent couldn't expand into Russia.

I started boycotting McDonald's when the started suing an English woman who named her Café after ex-husbands family. They dropped the lawsuit because Lord McDonald threatened to sue the global company for use of the name in retaliation. McDonald's doesn't actually have the rights to the name.

I kept boycotting because of the health concerns already in their food and the obscene rates of sugar and salt in their food.

No!! Mc.D for us anyway, As far as them outsourceing thier food products we are sure in time they will find out thier greed may be thier last. True Canda and Usa have worked very hard, spent a lot to keep us safe in the food we eat.
Most of the northwest depends on the beef from Canada and other products as well. Then some body looked at the map and said, hey folks that is another country and we need to make sure and have a passport to go there.(BS) Just another greedy marketing CEO going for his or her bonus.!

McDonalds is still making huge profits....to choose dangerous meat insted of what they know is tried and true - pffft

AS I WAS RAISED AND SPENT MOST MY ADULT LIFE ON A CATTLE FARM BACK HOME IN WALES I KNOW EXACLY WERE YOU ARE COMING FROM WITH THIS NAN
THEY TELL US THE SAME HERE THAT WE DO NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH BEEF OR LAMB TO FEED THE COUNTRY YET THEY ARE EXPORTING IT AND THEN IMPORT FROM S AMERICA

I was born a vegetarian. Don't eat meat through choice. It's because I can't. I was made this way.

Never been in a McDonalds.

Not surpriseing------to the coporate mind---cheap is always better---reguardless of quality

I think that the business should have to get their meat from the country the business is in. That way the country gets work and the business gets the customers. Seems only fare. All the country are going to places that they can buy cheaper at but not thinking that if they take the business away from the country they are in then that country can't afford to buy their products. I also don't like the thought of what could be in those burgers.

Cattle? I was a herdsman for several years. I am still able to age a cow by her face, within two years.
My weight guessing is a bit rusty. And, I can still sort a pen of cattle quietly, without a shout or hot shot.
I have pulled so many calves, I lost count.
Had my gloved arm in up to my shoulder to turn one right. Had a calf suck my finger while it was still inside Mom.
And, got one out alive - coming out backwards.

I love the cattle business, it is just not profitable enough for me to get back in it.

And, I can call in a herd of cows -while standing at the barn that has shocked many a herd owner and buyer. I should have entered a "cow calling" contest.
