Ok I'm ba ck again ... I actually read some of the more reasonable folks here this time.

So Now It's time to prove how retarded I am about computers. I've wanted to ask this for a while. What the fuck is the difference between the groups and blogs on this site? Seriously I want to know. As i see it and has been admitted insome replies here there the same shit. Folks here start groups to talk about shit that interests or concerns them and other likeminded individuals. And this is exactly the same reason they start blogs. So why have both features on this site that appears to either have no one that knows how to fix shit or is simply overloaded due to shitty equipment. Just like all the profiles that are no longer in use. I know for a fact I've lost several prolie info and they remain active here all this such crap overloads the best of servers and is real easy to fix, delete the shit. Just like groups there's a lnik to delete your group but it don't delete shit. the groups I've finished with get completely erased and sent in to a.f.f oblivion. I simply post delete this group and send it off into a.f.f space. All this type stuff is what causes a lot of wear and tear on this site so why not simply allow members or mods or whatever delete the shit they nolonger have use of. And let me interupt myself a minute I fully know my words here will be simply ignored and I don't give a shit. So why two different features that do the exact same thing. I'd say get rid of groups and keep blogs because groups are all about the mods anyway just like blogs but blogs don't try to hide it. And there's always live chat rooms and avatar rooms to have live chat in. everything else in groups is bitched about and memers get banned for like ghosting or parking or spamming. So how do you stop bitches from bitching take them out. I also heard rumor that a.f.f was going to fully automate groups do this then it can't be any worse than the way it is. And you don't have to worry about folks showing favoritism. which is basically what most of this is about.

Oh well how bout some cheez got any cheez.
I wont report you.

You are right. What good would it do ?

I dont report anything unless it involves serious threats or serious violations of the TOUs.

You just admitted here that you and your wife are snitches.

Isnt that something you speak out against ?

You and your wife wouldnt like it if people went into your group or blog and totally disrespected you, but you have no problems doing it to other people. Or maybe I am wrong ?

I noticed you tried to be a member of the moderator group and you were denied.

This is the reason you were denied. Their credibility as a group would be down the toilet.

I read your blog and I feel sorry for you.

Get some help.

well all the suggestions sound great.

but even after you block someone you can add a feature that they cant veiw you anymore. but the bad part about that is that anyone who know the internet knows that all they have to do is google somones handle and they can read there blog anyways so that would work

A few issues I'm having...

In chat options, no one with capital letters in their handles can be removed from ignore. No matter how many times you try. Yes, we've all written, but nothing has been done about it.

The spell check is suddenly not working when I add a new blog post. The preview post button right next to it is working fine, but not the spell check. It works fine in comments, but not in add a new post. This has started in the past few days.

I can't remove people who have left the site from my network, with this new feature where you can only see active members.

I would love to see something done about the blog bots. A number of us have written to abuse, I've even led them to the modeling sites where the photos were stolen. No matter how many complaints they get, the bots stay up. Two, where I pointed them right to where they stole their pics, were taken down for two days, but have miraculously reappeared. It's probably wrong to call them bots, as it's some sort of game that's being played. One claims to be in West Palm Beach, but when "she" gets men into IMs, she tells them how she's stuck in Brazil at the moment. Yet nothing is done.

New members are becoming increasingly abusive and when you say something to them, they go on about how if we women don't want to fuck anything that asks, what are we doing on a site that promises in the ads that they can get laid within hours of joining and why aren't we women on e harmony instead if we want lovers? Seriously, if you want to build a community, those ads really do have to change. Especially when you consider the number of portals that feed into this one and aren't advertised quite the same way. I know sex sells and fantasy sells even more, but it's the ever decreasing number of women on the site who have to deal with social lepers who make Comic Book Guy from "The Simpsons" look hot and who can't even get laid at last call who think hot women who look like porn stars and are under 25 should be lining up to do them. This is one of the reasons that so many women who used this site for years successfully are leaving. Slight changes would in theory cut down on the number of abusive members and keep women from leaving.

I would love to see inactive profiles that haven't been accessed in four or five years just deleted from the system. These people aren't coming back. It would nice to see their handles released into the wild. I know of one who really is dead, but her family never sent the death certificate. People from the now-defunct East Coast Room made the trip for her funeral a few years ago. Yet her profile remains. There are various profiles in the NYC area where the last visit was 9/10/01. I don't think they're coming back either. Yet it's active members who are lost in databases errors, never anyone who hasn't been on in years.

I would also like to see in the browse feature, the people who are active being listed over inactive members. Like go to the top of your respective group according to your last log in. There are active members who are so far back, they're behind people who haven't logged on in a year or two. Other sites do that, instead of putting you in place when you sign up and leaving you there, to be lost in the shuffle.

Finally, (I know, I'm a whiny, demanding bitch) I really would like to see the how to stay safe online link higher up than the very bottom of the page. And what happened to the IQ test?

Andrew replies on 7/22/2006 11:54 pm:

If they are saying they are stuck in another country somewhere then they are scammers trying to get money from you. They will ask you for help and for you to send any kind of money that you can once they get you into your private IM. I know cause a friend had that happen to her not long ago, not by these bots though...My friend said they are very persistent too, even after you tell them that you cant and all, and if you try to tell them them that you cant because you wont send money by credit card or check then they will continue to persist saying that you can send it by western union and all.

Re albums in groups...
cant say I have a point of vew on this..... do not really see why the feature is needed...

Re list new and recently visited members in groups....
again do not see why this feature is required.... not sure if it adds anything to a group home page.... just another list...
I would not want any feature that might discourage a person from joining..... if they just want to read, do not see why they need to be highlighted......

Re limiting of posts...
can understand why this may be useful in blogs, but really do not think it is appropriate to groups..... a better way would be to have an option where people want a group to be by "invitation only"...

Re top of the postsI like the idea of being able to fix a post at the top of a group list... for a specified period....

Other suggestions
Dump the "most active posters in groups" list......
Never could see why that was there, or its usefulness....... as far as far as I can see it only encourages some to abuse the system.....

Thank you for permitting me to comment

If they are fake blogs why let it bother you? They are fake, all they are doing is bringing in a bunch of men leaving flirty comments to what could possibly be another male on the other end.

I think I know some of these blogs are you are complaining about, I wrote about one a few weeks ago just because I couldn't believe someone had enough time in a day to do 25 post. I was going to play his/her game and copy all what he/she wrote into my blog but I decided to watch a movie instead.

As for Gay Hookup Zone doing something about these questionable post. I say let it go. Pretty soon these fake blogs will dominate the most popular page. Now wouldn't that be fitting for Gay Hookup Zone, One hillbilly and a bunch of fake blogs representing the "best writting" on Gay Hookup Zone.

I have suggestion, and this could be for groups and blogs (and I think this was suggested before by someone else). Why not enable us to post a small thumbnail in blog and group posts and replies? Of course there would have to be a size limit, but thats normal..even for profile pics. Do you think it would be too much? I mean a pic of something other than what is on the persons profile...

Sure would be great if interest group mods had the chance to create something like a "new topic intro". This block of text is displayed on the page where members post NEW TOPICS, as opposed to replies. You could even have a link there to the gruop FAQ, if you got one. Mods edit it on the same page as their other gruop settings.

I can't tell ya how many mods are frustrated with the number of "Are there any ladies here in Outer Mongolia who wanna **ck?" topics. I usually have to remove several of these every day *sigh*, even though the group intro is pretty explicit about no individual contact requests, and I have a second group FOR personal ads! This suggestion would at least reduce that number by putting the info where it's needed.

It would also be nice if the words "Post New Message" on interest group home pages were changed to "Post NEW TOPIC" (this helps to clue newbies into the diffo between new topics and replies). After all "topic" is the term of art used around here, in fact it appears *right below* the words "Post New Message". A newbie who read words carefully would probably wonder, "wow what's the diffo between a topic and a message?"

BTW, why doesn't this site have a "tour" ? You know, like a little slideshow that guides newbies by the hand. Those aren't too hard to build, you know. I suggest you start small by doing a 3- or 4-pager one for blogs, and see if it gets used. Might pay off in the end by saving time for support.

For what it may be worth.. the four biggest complaints I get from my group members, in no particular order are: 1) rudeness in the chat room, 2) lost profiles, 3) lost or missing posts, and 4) "can't get into chat."

I have a long list of things-to-do about "can't get into chat" like I explain how to clear cookies, unjoin/rejoin, etc., but there are still people who can't get in. And #1 is what me and the chat mods have to work on, but 2-4 are beyond our control.

If I could get two of those three last ones fixed, I'd be a super happy camper. Even one would be majorly dandy doodles. But then again, I don't pay the bills ...all I can do is hope lol.

BTW my members don't seem real impressed with tech support, even the premium ones.

Just a sugestion for the blogs. Since everyone is always up in arms about the active blogs list. Why not make the list an "Actively Watched" list instead of a comment list? It would give more opportunity to those others out there, instead of just those who can recruit posters. (Not dissing on the "popular" bloggers...I read most of them regularly, but sometimes it does seem like they are comment whoring a bit just to stay on top.)

And slots do need to be more random. Although I do have to say that at least with them, I occassionally do see a blogger I may not have seen otherwise. Can't there be a random blog generator that include all bloggers?

Just a thought.

Andrew, thanks as always for asking for suggestions and feedback from your members. While I could ask for a million things, I'm only going to beg for 5

1) Please stop allowing people who are not members to view the blogs from google. They can easily view people's pics and blogs just from clicking "I'm 18, let me see the blogs". It scares me that anyone can find my blog without being a member here. This should only be allowed by people who register for the site, standards and paying members.

2) Please, pretty, pretty please let us include pics within blog text. One way to do this is to let us have a blog album that we can then html link pics into our blogs. Or even letting us link our network album pics into the blogs. PLEASE??

3) You asked about promoting the community. The blog community is one of the best on the internet, it's the main reason why I remain on this site. How about hosting a convention or Gay Hookup Zone Tour bus with bloggers touring the nation? I know far fetched but, it'd be awesome to have a huge Gay Hookup Zone meet and greet, even as an add on to a porn convention. Think about it ok?

4) Please give us a customized quick reply option for emails. QR is the only way I can manage my email and the canned responses are rarely close to what I want to say. Letting us type our own QR would be so much better.

5) Encourage/create blogland games, contests, quizzes- have a section on the front page for top games, create Gay Hookup Zone run games and contests, whatever, it's what pulls us together and gets us visiting each other. Speaking of, you must be exhausted why don't you come take a break at [post 418579], the HOTTEST brothel in blogland! Then go vote for us at [post 419109], we'd love to have you

It's amazing that they'll even comment whore on your posts.

One thing that would be great to have in email is a "forward to the abuse team" button. As it stands now you have to copy and paste and some dork in CS gets it and sends back a canned reply that has NOTHING to do with your original complaint. (Yes, I complained about your customer service people before. Either your first tier of people are really bots or are working on single digit IQ's)

I know you were asking for suggestions about "building the community" but I would like to make one small suggestion...

In the message centre, there is a drop down menu of "Quick Replies". Is it possible to add another option, something along the lines of "thank you but I am not interested" without having to specify why.

I try and be polite and send a "thanks but no thanks" message and find myself having to choose a "reason",that may not reflect the mirage or reasons we say no thank you.

Basically, a more Generic "I am not intereted" option...current options quite often tempt people to try and refute the reason you gave as they are more specific.

Thanks,

Frangi

How about video 'intros' only for friends

I'd love to shoot some (had to delete the previous one due to technical problems: one good one = 2 minutes of squirting and in top 50, ut bgot stuck after 20 sec; and the second tries never made even to the latest videos list in 3 weeks due to a bug I never got more explanation so hardly anybody saw them...)

But as the contacts I get because of the videos are often not what I am looking for here, too much distance etc BUT would like to share some with my friends...

And I would love to see the deleted members list too, not only declined members. Now people who were in the network don't excist at all!! Not being a native speaker I fear I sometimes mix 'move' and 'remove'...

"Better way to identify 'good' blogs..."

Is it necessary to really identify them? The readers will decide-- if they like it, they'll keep reading it; if not, the writer will get the hint.
A newbie walks into blog land and opens up 10 differant blogs,5 are gorgous bots were you cannot leave a comment 1 in friends network only,so again no comments,2 are please if you like me write to me for a fuck 1 is an extension of there profile and the last one being an extension of network pics with one word.

Now that would not show how decent blogs are wrote and no its not extreme what i've written as new post lists sometimes is excatly like that,as a new blogger i would leave blogs well alone.

At least with lists people can choose to comment or now and for the most part all top 50 bloggers are quite good,so newbie gets a chance to read and make a blog for him self and by working hard and yep its hard work gets a decent blog going and gets comments.

And i can assure you having been on that list for over a year people don't comment as they think we already get enougth and nearly all top bloggers for want of a better name read and comment every where to encourage all to blog

having just deleted over 500 posts and 10000 comments because of a stalking problem from a mad sad bitch from Spain ,this friendly site must be able to work out away to ban folk once and for all, especially when more than one person complain .
So far you have banned three of her profiles and yet i know for a fact she has at least 4 more,i and other women in Greek chat get our pics stolen from our networks and have them posted all over the place on and off the site,we get abusive in chat and in our mail.
In the last month i've got banned more times than i can count from the stupid woman ,my profile is now turned on and so far so good i've stayed unbanned unlike my chat profile papy_ who now gets banned often

Now i know i'm fed up of writing to you and i know your team must be fed up of Greek members writing to them about one person,so surely an Isp ban or something can be done.

i can honestly say i was very upset having to delete the best part of over a years hard work and wonderful comments but as the Bitch has threathened to come and visit my country and cause me phsical promblems ,apart from leaving a site i've been a member off for over two years there is very little else i can do.

Well, being a programmer for the last twenty+ years, I understand why any application/website/club is a balancing act with many, many performance/expedience/cost-benefit/feasibility tradeoffs.

Please keep in mind that your server's bus traffic as well as Gay Hookup Zone's user traffic and your modem, ISDN, cable link speed all influence your throughput. Likewise, remember to routinely clear your IE, netscape, firefox, etc. cache, cookies, and history. Also, routinely use IE to keep your version of Windows up-to-date by visiting Microsoft downloads for free System Updates...

Finally, some of the posters in here sure sound like straw men to me.
