Andrew, I wish you the best of luck with all the new features. I think it's wonderful that you're looking ahead.

However, I'd be in your debt if you'd consider reading How to get into chat ... this is a good example of what we powerless, hapless, "working mods" face every day.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to express my opinions here. I can only pray that someday, you and your heavenly staff will find the time to assist us humble ordinary folks with our mundane earthly problems.

I'm reporting the loss of one of the best Peeing Pleasures chat mod's profiles. It seems SexPistol262 no longer exists.

I find it annoying when my members' profiles vanish. Even more so when my best chat mod.s' get clobbered. Something is majorly wrong here.

You know, this blog is supposed to be about "building communities."

Some of us mods take that SERIOUSLY. It's my job to protect members from inappropriate behavior in the chat room. And rude posts, etc. I totally take that seriously.

But if I can't protect my members and my best chat mods from having their profiles vanish, who can?? I know you're trying your best Andrew, but sometimes I just totally wanna SCREAM dammit.

Sorry, just venting ... lol.

I just left a comment on someone's blog and waited for the page to roll over...and waited..and waited.

I counted to 97 before the page refreshed. Over a minute and a half.

The other night, I was responding to my "watched" bloggers, and it took me over 90 minutes to leave 17 comments. That's ridiculous.

You want to improve the community?? Get rid of all the bells and whistles and do something simple; improve the speed of the server. I don't want to add anymore people to my watched lists, cos at the rate with which this site is moving in the last couple weeks I'd never get to any of them, and I don't have all day to read all the bloggers that I'd want to. I'd think I'd get more for my premium membership than watching the green refresh bar slowly inch left to right.

Also would this give the few people i have in my friends list from abroad the right to join my group considering we are a UK only group?

I have exactly the same problem as meer. I click on a link and wait and wait and wait and wait and it never even starts to transfer data, in the bottom left corner of my firefox browser it just says 'waiting for Gay Hookup Zone.com..'. So I click on the stop button on my browser and click on it again and sometimes I have to repeat this process over and over and over again, and sometimes it does work the second time around. This happens to me quite often on this site. It once took me at least 4 minutes to get to an interest group thread on this site. Thats a long time considering I clean my browsers cache and history everyday,I do a spyware scan and disk cleanup quite often, and just yesterday done a virus scan and it came up completely clean.

Okay I've calmed down a bit since last night, but I really wanna get in here and try to explain why lost profiles are such a big deal. I konw I must seem like an unproductive griper.

SexPistol262 has been a member of Peeing Pleasures for several months. She has the brains of Marie Curie and the charm of Audrey Hepburn. I've only chatted with her 1-1 a couple of times, but my understanding is that she's a college student who does volunteer work in her community. I can't imagine her even looking at someone the wrong way!

I made her a chat mod. because she can really control the guys in the room NICELY, which is a pretty tall order. She also does some really super posts, like SQUIRTING the how to guide! She's just an all around GREAT MEMBER, and one of those rare people who is equally a credit to her "real life" community as well as an online community. Anyone in my age group would be ULTRA PROUD to have her as a daughter.

The thing is that people in groups know each other by their PROFILES. So when you take away someone's profile for no reason at all, you haven't just forced them to register again and build up their friends list and repost their pix and all that.

No: you have taken away their posting history, the handle that everyone knows them by ... you have TAKEN AWAY THEIR IDENTITY.

Andrew, I know I'm just standard member (although I was premium for a long time), and I realize that it's your site and you put the time and effort into developing it. I am only a guest in your house. And there are probably all sorts of business related issues as well as technical ones that I don't understand. Natch, also I'm kewl with new features and stuff. But I hope you understand just how serious the lost profiles problem is, and I can only beg you to do something about it whenever it fits into your overall concept for the site.

I would like to see the site add some features that will NOT allow a banned poster to continue to comment on your blog even if they are banned. I would like to see a banned poster banned so that they CANNOT be able to even view your blog or profile anymore. Once banned always banned from everything to do with the person who banned them.

When you click on "View My Blog" underneath someone's profile pic, you should be taken to the TITLE VIEW page.

This is just like groups: when you browse to a group, you don't see all the messages in the topics one after another. Instead you see the group home page with a LIST of topics.

This suggestion s/b easy to implement and might actually save bandwidth!

I find its unnessary if I log in in Germany e.g. that I get displayed actual Blogs, articles etc of another country where I dont live. Of what interest ist a blog of the US to one in Germany - or any other country? The interest of the user should be basically standard in his/her own homeland. Searching other countries is NOT the standard and makes no sense, should be done individually. I search for a partner in my country and always have to do some additional clicks to get the list I want. Please think about ist. In Germany some links also does not seem to be useful or are wrong. For e.g. articles, advices and erotic stories lead to the same listings.
Little things that makes live harder.

Also the IMC which doesn`t work properly by displaying online contacts who are defintively are not online altough they are displayed as online. The message capacity by letters is - sorry- a joke.

I have to disagree with some here......I know there are some fake profiles....and I'm not sure what you can do about them. But I work hard on my blog....and I have traveled from the low ranks to the popular list. That "hillbilly" writes one heck of a blog....and she's no fake. Neither am I. I don't completely understand how the numbers for unique responses are done and I'd love to understand that better. Also.....I do wonder about the pictures in the slots. One in particular....jasonabadboy4u appears in the first slot constantly. He hasn't blogged since June 25th, and only has 1-8 commenters on his posts. How do the slots work there? Thanks.

Please fix the "active" versus "associate" member designations within interest groups.

For quite some time now, I've been getting a lot of complaints from people who say that they've done myriad recent posts and are still being described by the system as "associate" members. This is almost certainly not a result of the data being distributed (i.e. server A not synching up with the info. on server . In many cases we're talking about folks who have posted regularly, week after week, right up until the current day.

The default setting for groups with over 1K members is supposed to require only one post in the last month. (I always change that to the last 12 months after the morning update, but the system is still not doing the right thing, regardless of which time period is used.)

Now I understand that a principal motivation behind the "active" vs. "associate" distinction was to reduce resource consumption during searches of the "active" members. And so it does, I guess (?).

But most people - human nature being what it is - don't take too kindly to being considered "associate members" when they do a lot of posting. And they often have a hard time understanding that we moderators have zero control over this.

Please: if you're going to introduce status distinctions within a "community," some extra trouble should be taken to ensure that the designations are computed accurately. No one anticipates that they'll be precise up to the minute. But the results here aren't just a little bit off.

This is a microcosm of my point about losing profiles. What we are talking about here is whether Friend Finder keeps its own side of a bargain that it imposes upon the users!

Most of my members don't understand that the software has bugs (most lay folks think a "bug" is a critter). They only know that they are dutifully doing what they're told to do, and not experiencing the promised results.

Again, this is relatively small beer by comparision to vanishing profiles. But in both cases we deal with a fundamental principal of basic decency. IF YOU ASK PEOPLE TO FOLLOW RULES, THEN THE "GOOD CITIZENS" WHO COMPLY MUST BE TREATED ACCORDINGLY, AS FAR AS POSSIBLE.

Whatever the reasons may be for this site's constant/consistent failure to achieve that standard, the end result is that you lose TRUST. And you can't "build communities" without trust.

angelofmercy, I can tell you about that...the unique responses part means how many "different" people are responding in your blog, or at least in each post (I'm not sure which). the 'slots' that you are talking about (If you mean the actively watched blogs part) is people whose blogs are being viewed alot at that moment. The guy you are pointing to in your posts, posts links to his blog posts in the interest group postings, or he has at least...he posted a link to his blog posts in two of my different groups one time. So that may be why he is viewed alot without posting more blog posts.

I don't see any reason for the most active male/female blog and the recently created blog sections on the blog page. They seem to just be a waste of space.

I'd like to see a rotating list of watched blogs instead. Once a blog was been bookmarked by a certain amount of people it could go in the list. This way some of the lesser known "good" blogs could get some exposure.

It also seems that whenever you post a picture along with a blog entry, it takes way too long for the post to show up. The last few times I tried this my post never even showed up in the "recent posts" section because it was pushed off by the time my blog posted.

I sound like a kiss-ass, but I've spent a lot of time on match, and it doesn't have HALF the features of Gay Hookup Zone.

Every time I look around, there's something new on Gay Hookup Zone that I hadn't used before.

When I wanted to start writing about my adventures and interact with others, I found my way to the blogs.

When I wanted to test my sex tele-classes, I found Gay Hookup Zone had a broadcast webcam feature. I had over 500 people watching the session on anal sex. I added my own tele-conference feature, which would be useful for charging a fee to attendees.

Sometimes my blog updates don't go through immediately. It would nice if the server updated faster though it seems pretty quick for me as a gold member. In general, I'm impressed with how well Gay Hookup Zone works.

Now, in terms of creating a community, I'd like to see Gay Hookup Zone offer FREE tele-classes on how to be successful finding sex, how to be safe, how to have great sex (sex that is satisfying so you can retain "customers") and I'm just the Sex Coach to offer those classes as I have been a member of the community for eight months and have moved up in the blog rankings to hit the page of closely watched blogs and have been able to draw an audience for my webcams without promotional support.

I'm still working on my book about using Gay Hookup Zone to find a very adventurous life, and I'm not done yet!

Small interest group suggstion - allow moderators to change the topic subjects.

A lot of folks on this site have a real problem when it comes to thinking of something to say in the message body. On those happy occasions when they do, the additional serendipity of a descriptive topic line is often too much to hope for. So you end up with a lot of topic subjects like hi.

I'm not sure how much coding effort this would take, but my guess/hope is that topic titles are stored in a separate field from the topic text itself. So perhaps there wouldn't be too much I/O.

(Although I would still very much like to see something done about lost profiles, I guess that doesn't fit into the business plan right now. Next decade, perhaps?

I don't know why people are so concerned about being harrassed by bloggers! It's done in front of everyone, and you are always free to comment back. If someone is as some of you say, "a Troll" or whatever, speak your mind on the following comment, and continue on with the rest as you normally would. YA can't expect to click with everyone, but you should be able to respond to everyone. This allows people to see more sides of you. People are free to say whatever they want on my blog. If they don't like me, by all means speak your mind. I have fun on this site responding no matter what people say, good or bad! It's better to bite back then to ignore someone. It keeps things interesting.

What I'd Like to SEE is a feature which allows advice question posters the option to respond to the question's comments individually as you can in the blogs.

I respond to all the comments people leave to my advice questions, but I always have to do it in one lump sum in the form of an additional comment. This means that when people read my responses to the comment they have to toggle from the comments that are posted to my lump comment of responses at the end of the collumn. This would be especially difficult when the advice collumn has more than one page.
If I could respond to each comment individually, people could just read my responses to my questions comments easily and go down the list.
MUCH MUCH EASIER!!

I would like a way to remove those members of groups who don't actually use the group. I am the moderator of an active group and we have a lot of meets. We have all sorts in the members list and I just don't have the time to monitor them completely. We have a function that demotes these members to associate status if they don't post for a specified amount of time...what if they are removed from the group list and have to rejoin instead of becoming associates. Or you could have a button that allows us to delete associated..not as much ban but remove.

Yeah a remove member button would be good too as well as the ban button. We aren't so much interested in appearing as a popular group by having a lot of members. We would rather be a small group of active members. I can see when the last time someone logged onto the site but I don't know when the last time they popped into the group was...any ideas on how you can help with this.

This will help us get rid of members who only join all the groups to flag their profile..it is irritating in an active group to have these people in there.

I think albums in groups would be great as we do a lot of meets and always have pics to share of the meets. The only way we can do this is through the individual albums. Some of the pics we don,t want to share with our networks but to keep in our little group.

Bye everyone, it was a blast

Profile Deleted Again!

This profile of mine got deleted yet again yesterday late afternoon, (I posted in this very post about it before). It has happened to me now 4 times in the space of about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. This time..I clicked on someones profile to read it and suddenly your navigator bar showed me as logged out, I tried to log back in and it said 'sorry your handle/password do not match our records'. The last time it happened was similar, except that I clicked on the link to one of my interest groups chat rooms and was suddenly logged out and couldnt log back in. It was a locational group chat room, one that I have been into since then and not had any trouble...so for whatever reason, it is logging me (and other people maybe) out and I am not able to log back in. Hope this helps in explaining what is happening.
