Seattle Erotic Art Festival

I did go to the Seattle Erotic Art Festival last weekend (well, two weekends ago, since it's now Monday morning). While it was cool and all, I liked last year's better. The theme this year was "art noir," which seemed to translate into, among other things, lots of ropes and other BDSM stuff. That's all well and good, but it's not my thing - and that's fine, since the theme can't be everybody's thing every year.

I did buy the catalog, more as a statement of support than anything else. Several printers had refused to take the job of printing the catalog because of the content, and that made both the budget and the schedule much tighter than they would otherwise have been. While I wish they hadn't made that choice, it is true that it's a choice the printers are free to make - as private entities, freedom of speech and/or the press means that they can choose to print or not print whatever they want. This is a case, though, where I would really like to express my support by patronizing the company that did do the printing, which sounds like a good idea until you realize that I have no use at all for the services of a printing company, and presumably won't for quite some time, if ever. Oh well.
