I strongly support the rights of gay men and women to marry or have any other right that straight people can get. Why not? They pay taxes and should be full fledged citizens. We used to legally discriminate against women and minorities, but that is illegal now, as it should have been always. Human rights should be the inalienable right of all humans.

But many religious people think otherwise, and they have a right to such opinions. I do not understand why Miss California got so much flack for her religious views that marriage should be just for one man and one woman. Many people think that way, including Pres. Obama. So lets try to remember that the First Amendment was designed to protect the rights of free speech even for those we do not agree with!

Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter have rights to say stupid things, why shouldn't beauty contestants?

 Americans seem to prefer people who say outrageous things rather than those who speak sensible thoughts. Showering fame and money on those demagogues who say dumb stuff is so American.
