Sex Puzzle #3 - Heat In The Kitchen

OK, this is only a sex puzzle if you cook naked.

So, before your read on you have to take off all your clothes... I'm already naked so I'll wait for you.

OK... ready?

Hot dates for a threesome at your house for steak dinner and an evening of frolicking! You all want to get the meal cooked and get on with the after dinner entertainment as quickly as possible.

Especially since you're all already naked.

It takes 10 minutes to fry one steak - 5 minutes on each side.

Two steaks can fit in the one pan.

What is the shortest possible time to fry 3 steaks in one pan?

Explain your answer.

A smile is the sexiest thing a woman can wear.

10 minutes... Although you say 2 can fit, you did not say that ONLY 2 could fit.

It is inferred that only two can fit in. And now I'll say it explicitly - 2 steaks at the most can fit in the pan.

I am not good at this type of puzzle and my answer I'm sure is nowhere close to being right but I will say it anyway. LOL 20 minutes, 10 for the first two and 10 for the third. But of course that is the obvious answer.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a stab at the puzzle. Yes, 20 minutes is the obvious answer (what I call the "thought trap" of the puzzle) - and the obvious answer is never it or it wouldn't be a puzzle.

Here's a clue. There are six sides to cook on the three steaks. You can cook two sides at a time. The quickest way of cooking them, therefore, is to always have two sides cooking at once. Arithmetically that points to an answer but the real question is how to cook them so there are always at least two sides cooking and never just one...

BTW, did you follow the rules and get naked before you read the puzzle?
