Any advice on how to carefully approach wife with suggestion to have a 3-some or swinging?

I tried several times at different times, and the question here is to catch right moment, and make a hint in such way that I could back off if she gets angry about this. But the hint should be suggestive enough so that she could think a bit more about possibility of swinging or 3-somes.

Any suggestions from your personal experience or common sense?

 cinnamon0133 - thanks. I keep working on this because sometimes we were joking about something of this sort and it all was going smoothly.
Also I found she likes to suck my finger very strongly while I fuck her, with closed eyes, and sometimes tells me in advance jokingly that she needs to heat up her fantasy before starting (we have very long oral too).
I thin a 3-some would be good, would keep her more actively interested in sex.

I hoped for specific advices from anybody who had such experience and successfully opened up to each other on this after long years of standard one-to-one sex.

 Just be careful and dont push her into doing it .
Hint at it . If she wants to she will throw it out there
