Had my first visit to the keys last summer and loved it. Way too shorts, tho; only two days.
This year, I'm spending the week of October 12th playing and exploring. Should be fun.
So, does anybody have suggestions of places, event, local dives (or scuba diving locations...) or any other useful info? I love discovering remote places and off-the-beaten-path attractions.
Excellent photo locations greatly appreciated!

I had a great new experience with an Gay Hookup Zone member recently. Had a good time and all, but also had some thoughts on the meeting.
I wonder how others experience first meetings. Is your hunger wild and anxious? How does 'caring' fit in with your experience? How do you say goodbye?

Which would you prefer for a sexual encounter; A friend, or a total stranger? I think I would prefer friendship first.
So, then, how long does it take for you to call someone a friend? I've had a few people in my life that were instant friends, others that developed into friendships slowly, and even a few that almost got there but then just faded away.
What are your views and experiences?

Desert Rat 2009

Went in search of desert wildflowers last week. Started out at Mojave national preserve (Kelso dunes) for two nights, two nights in Death Valley, a night in Eureka dunes, then finished up in Saline Valley. Not much in bloom yet this year, but still beautiful. I love the wide open spaces and driving for hours without seeing anyone else. DesertUSA rated most areas at 5-6 out of 10, but I'd give 'em around 3-4. Notes for next trip will be to spend more time at Saline Valley (hot springs and wild burros!) even though it's 30 miles of washboard roads. Great place and very relaxing!

As I look back on 2008 I see some of the same ol' story; drama where there should have been none, betrayal of trust countered with understanding, general mistrust of our fellow man. I've gained my share of cynicism in the last few years as well. I sometimes wonder how I keep plugging away.
I realize it all comes down to the saying "keep on keeping on." We follow our hearts and heads (sometimes both of them!) and try to do what we feel is 'right'. Along the way, we keep forging our way forward, trying to keep hurts of the past behind us and be optimistic of the future.
I think my goal for 2009 will be "don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff."

Naughty Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, and God was it neat,
The were both gone, and my wife was in heat.
The doors were all bolted, and the phone off the hook,
It was time for some nooky, by hook or by crook.
Mama in her teddy, and I in the nude,

Look out for the lamp post, and don't hit the tree,
Quit shaking the sleigh, 'cause I gotta go pee.
They cleared the old lamp post, the tree got a rub,
Just as Santa leaned out and threw up on my shrub.
And then from the roof we heard such a clatter,
As each little reindeer now emptied his bladder.
I was donning my jacket to cover my ass,
When down the chimney Santa came with a crash.
His suit was all smelly with perfume galore,
He looked like a bum and he smelled like a .
"That was some brothel" he said with a smile,
"The reindeer are pooped, so I'll just stay here a while."
He walked to the kitchen, himself poured a drink,
Then whipped out his pecker and pissed in the sink.
I started to laugh, my wife smiled with glee,
The old boy was hung nearly down to his knee.
Back in the den, Santa reached in his sack,
But his toys were all gone, and some new things were packed.
The first thing he found was a pair of false tits,
The next was a handgun, with a penis that spits.
A box filled with condoms was Santa's next find, \
And a six pack of panties, the edible kind.
A bra without nipples, a penis extension,
And several other things I shouldn't even mention.
A fuck ring, a g-string, and all types of oil,
A dildo so long, it lay in a coil.
"This stuff ain't for , Mrs. Santa will shit,
So I'll leav'em here, and then I'll haveta split."
He filled every stocking and then took his leave,

He sprang to his sleigh, but his feet were like lead,
Thus he fell on his ass and broke wind instead.
In time he was seated, took the reigns of his hitch,
Saying, "Take me home Rudolph, this nights been a BITCH!"
The sleigh was near gone when we heard Santa shout,
"The best thing about sex is that it never wears out!"
