Sister Ship

Today I do not sail alone a sister ship I have to share the load and watch my back what merry pirates we will be. When storms at sea come up we'll sail together my sister ship with me. I'll not fear the rocks or a run aground with her to check my course. And if you are a prize to take beware my pirate team. because your guns will be no match when we sail to claim this sea. I'll be there, she need not ask if ever she needs me. So treasure shared is not so bad when there so much more treasure to be had.

Some days the winds are down and my ship it cannot sail, but Today is a day made by god just for me. The wind is up and the waves are capping. this ship is strong and I love the challenge. So bring on your gun boats your Frigates, and Corvettes you can not scare me. My ship is much much faster than you with all your guns, and I will pass you with my guns blazing as I head for open sea. Today I'll watch the sunrise then I head out to the ocean where I look for me a target while I ride this rolling sea. The winds blow past me standing at the wheel of my lovely ship. Today I'll not be conquered nor tomorrow or for years. For there's treasure there for taking and I want it all me. So do not carry heavy hearts or worry just for me this course that I follow is my choice, For my life my love's the Sea.

I sailed a ship for many years trained a young crew and fought many tough fights, I thought I was a good Capitan working hard to provide the treasure for my crew. But one day the first mate leads a mutiny. I was not prepared to see my ship go down.
I spent several years looking for a new ship one with graceful lines and a proud look. One that would take me as her Capitan and sail the water of the sea. One who would explore the map and join in adventures. She would take me to new places and show me new things. And I found this ship one day in port no Capitan to stand at her helm. She was a beauty to behold fine lines and sleek rig. And she needs a Capitan like I needed a ship. The ship is still beautiful but her sails are locked away and I have no key. Many days then months and now years I have worked but I am no locksmith. I have tried every tool begged and pleaded. I have romanced her and treated her with up most respect. But the sails still remain unfurled held bound by some force I cannot imagine. This ship that I hold so dear to my heart never goes sailing but she’s not at fault. She didn't lock the sail locker she didn't furl the sails and she waits for the wind and I wait here with her. I pray that one day the sails will be freed and we cans go sailing my ship and me.

The brig on this boat is way to small there only room for one prisoner you see. I sail this ship both in wind and storm and I am her Capitan out on the sea. My travels are wide my adventures many. This boat is my life,my heart and my soul and I serve her with pride and no regret. I love being pirate and Capitan to her, but the small brigs is a problem you see for there is room for no other, because,I'm already in it.

Pirate out for plunder

I'm in one of those moods today, I stare out at the horizon and look for my prey, I pace the deck and load the cannons. Today I am out for plunder. What will I find when I round the point a fat galleon or a sleek brigantine, Not a frigate with all her gun of a Man of war to stop my crime. there she is a sloop I see I must sneak up cause fast she'll be. I'll come from behind keep the sun to my back I'll be there in no time I'll make my attack. I'll slip up beside her and fire a broadside take down her defenses them move in fast before she can recover. When were gunwale to gunwale it will be pistols and cutlass. But soon she'll surrender and then I will board her. I'm not a tyrant or some heartless fiend. no I'll take my time and explore her fully leaving nothing to chance and no treasure un plundered. I'll work my way through her not missing a spot.I will be kind to her crew they did me no wrong and I have no need for prisoners thats just to unkind.. and when I leave I may take her along, but most like likely I'll leave her with thanks for her time. Not put off her crew or scuttle her there. If I leave her to sail some day I may find her more willing to surrender if I do this again. I'll return to the Ocean that owns my heart, though she's never loving almost heartless in fact but I'm chained to this deck till that fateful day comes and they finally Hang Me and bury my bones.

My compass is broken, My ships near aground, I know this night I'll probably drown. for this is the sea of storms. What will I do I cannot see, The clouds are thick the wind is strong there is no moon in this the sea of storms. The sails are tattered the main is torn, the mast is broken. the crew forlorn. this is the sea of storms. They say don't go around cape horn because there you will enter the sea of storms. I see a sliver a tiny light is the sun rising will there be light. I have almost made it, but I know they were right, If have a good compass keep tight to your course, don't ever enter this sea of storms

I stand this day at the helm of my ship the wind is fierce, the sea a boil. The clouds are dark and they hang so low, but I wont turn back I have to go.
My ship is slammed and bounded around just a meir toy to the ocean realm. My shirt and coat are soaked and cold I won't turn back I have to go.
I can not see through the gloom so deep, I pray my way I will keep, if all is lost my ship goes down I won't turn back I have to go.
This storm grows and my will is fading, I'm cold, wet, and scared of failing. I won't turn back I have to go.
My ship is old and her timbers creek, this storm has continued for more than a week. Can I endure, I do not know. I won't turn back I have to go.
There she Stands on that distant shore, a lantern in hand to guide me home I didn't turn back. I have to go Home.

Would you sit with me on the deck of my boat watching the waves roll on shore at some distant port? Would you lay in my arms and watch the moon come up so big that it fills the sky? Would you feel the breeze and smell the air and hold me close in the cool night air? Would you share a drink and laugh and joke, watch the fire on the beach and smell the smoke? Would you swim with me in the sun warmed sea, where no one could see and wear nothing at all? would you lay with me in my bunk all night just skin on skin and feel the waves rock the boat till sleep brought the light? Would you watch the sun rise and stretch out it's light feel the warmth of the day and know it was right?

Surrender the booty, Damn I just like the sound of that. LOL I love the feel of a sailboat moving in silence only the wind for power. Healed over toe board in the water the spray of salt water. I love anchoring in some secluded cove for the night or afternoon of whatever. I love the moon coming up out on the water it looks larger than you can imagine if you have never seen it. The romance the intimacy of being at the whim of nature. One day I will return to my pirating ways at least in spirit. If I happen to come upon you be ready to surrender and be boarded.

Yes I am a pirate 200 years to late The cannons don't thunder their's nothing to plunder I'm an over 40 victim of fate. These words from a song by Jimmy Buffet somehow describe Me. I have had a love for boats and the water as long as I can remember. Sailboats are by far my favorite. I have owned a couple of them. The last one I called The Gale, actually named after Gail who always had something to say about everything ( A little windy in my opinion.) The Gale was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan but I will one day own another sailboat. I don't think so much that I long to be a criminal just that the freedom and life on board my own boat going anywhere I wanted whenever I wanted. I have a boat, a 22 ft walk-around, great boat for fishing, but I still miss having a sailboat. I think I would like to retire on a large sailboat and explore the Caribbean, The gulf coast etc. Sometimes I think it's because I get tierd of all the rules and just want to play by my own for a while. more on this later.

My blog stream seems to have hit a case of writers block, I don't want to spend my time complaining or looking for things to complain about. I have no earth shattering news or even remotely important news, I don't want to spend all my time quoting other more famous of infamous people for that matter. I use to be somewhat more creative with my literary prose but I guess thats just something else you lose with age. Speaking of age I have heard a lot of complaining about getting older. You have to learn to be more positive about things. for instance I have an uncle who never admits his memory is getting worse. but he will gladly inform you that the older he get the better his for-getter works. we enough of me rambling on like and old fart. Have a good one or at least get laid.

This year I will not ask for material possessions, nor money, I would ask for just one simple thing, to feel wanted again to be held close by the person I choose to spend my life with and know that she shares the passion I have for her. Just to have her reach out for me and say I Love You.
